Basketweaver

Guðrún Pétursdóttir has been weaving baskets for over 40 years. By experimenting and attending courses in Iceland and abroad she has built up her skills, style and network. Her collaboration with Polish basket makers has proven a great inspiration. For the past decade Guðrún has focused on using Icelandic material in her own work as well as in the numerous courses she has taught. Her baskets are made from willow branches, bark, roots, iris and lyme grass. Lyme grass is her favourite material and has proven to be an endless source for creativity.
