Learntoweaveabasket

During this two-day course, you will learn to make a woven basket from lyme grass and other straw materials. The method is sometimes associated with Burkina Faso, but similar baskets have also been found in Spain and Scotland. We will start by practicing the techniques needed to create a wide variety of baskets. Participants will be introduced to Icelandic materials for crafting, including how and when to gather and dry materials for future use. Finally each person will create one basket applying the methoods they have learned in their own way.
