We learn together how to weave a colourful basket, perfect for keeping all your treats and treasures. We thread the weave over and under, over and under and get hypnotized by the mesmerizing craft of basket weaving.
The workshop is led by basket weaver Guðrún Pétursdóttir who has been in residency at our museum this summer. Guðrún has woven baskets for over 40 years and led a range of workshops. For the past decade she has experimented solely on using local materials for her baskets and artwork. Her baskets are made from willow branches, bark, roots, iris and lyme grass.
