“Room to room – Design a Home during Summer Break!”

The Museum of Design and Applied Arts hosts a five day summer course for children aged 9-12 years old from June 10th-14th, every day from 1 pm – 4 pm.

About the workshop:

Participants will put their design hats on and try out some different design methods. They’ll design and create a model of a home for imaginary residents keeping their personalities and needs in mind. Each class will be dedicated to different rooms which together form a model of a home at the end of the process.

The aim is to encourage creativity, engaging in hands-on thinking, exploring possibilities, learning about scale and model making. At the end of the week participants will take their models home.

Designer Kristín María Sigþórsdóttir leads the workshop, which has proven to be very popular.
