Jewellerydesign

Brynhildur Pálsdóttir and Hildur Ýr Jónsdóttir discuss jewelry design and the development in the field from the early 1960s, when new and avant-garde ideas began to emerge, to the present day. They will introduce designers and artists who have shaped the field over the years, as well as those they find particularly noteworthy.

Brynhildur is a product designer and was the curator of the exhibition Jewellery:object – Sculpture for the Body at Hafnarborg last year. Hildur Ýr is a graduated in jewellery design from the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. Her works, which challenge traditional ideas about jewelry, have been exhibited widely abroad and are included in collections such as the Danner Rotunda Foundation in Munich.
