Paperdolls –FashionDesignersoftheFuture

At the exhibition Paper dolls – Fashion Designers of the Future, visitors can discover the results of the work of all the 4th graders from Garðabær. The students visited the museum and gained insight into the world of fashion design. They received a guided tour through the exhibition Barbie Goes to the Design Museum, and afterward, had the chance to experiment with a creative design challenge. Each class worked on a cohesive fashion line in collaboration, but every student was still given the space to express their personal style.

The workshop was created by the design team Þykjó for the Museum of Design and Applied Art, and the workshop instructors were children’s cultural designer Ninna Þórarinsdóttir and fashion designer Stefán Svan Aðalheiðarson.

Photographer Sigga Ella captured the magic leading up to the Children’s Culture Festival at the Museum of Design and Applied Art. All 4th graders in Garðabær have now visited the museum and gained insight into the fascinating world of fashion design.

The exhibition is part of the Children’s Culture Festival in Garðabær, which will take place from April 7-12. Students in the town’s schools will participate in a variety of workshops during school hours and have the opportunity to create, explore, and have fun.
