Messages

As part of our permanent display “At home in the Design Museum” we now introduce so-called “visits” which will be regularly incorporated into the home. During these “visits,” designers and artists will create temporary exhibitions within the permanent display. The first exhibition visit, Messages,  is created by graphic designers Katla Einarsdóttir and Una María Magnúsdóttir.

As we adapt to new modes of communication, conversations, phone calls, and post-it notes have given way to text messages and digital notes. During their visit the designers will examine messages between household members on digital platform and the casual and often comic side to this communication.

Una María Magnúsdóttir graduated from The Rietvelt Academy in 2023 and Katla Einarsdóttir gratuated from Iceland University of the Arts in 2022.
